It takes a fair amount of work to churn out a long

It takes a fair amount of work to churn out a longbow over the course of three days, but it's incredibly fulfilling.
Last weekend I joined three other students for a three-day bow-making workshop with Correy Hawk, and had a blast. We all came away with beautiful and functional bows, and an awesome experience.
I've toyed around with making a few bows in the past, but this instruction chopped off a lot of the learning curve and helped me internalize the process. It's how I learn best - an expert sharing knowledge directly, working hands-on, and getting to really dig into the subject matter.
This workshop has been one of the best investments I've made in myself, and I'm grateful I had an opportunity to take part. Many thanks @organic.archer

Well, Mount Shasta wasn't meant to be on this trip

Well, Mount Shasta wasn't meant to be on this trip. Because of minor injury, we ended up turning back. It's always disappointing when things don't go the way we want, but it's better to have everyone make it back safe and sound.
So, Mount Shasta, I add you - with love - to my list of unfinished business. I hope to see you again soon.
And for now, I'll have to find another mountain to summit.

This morning, as I let Inkling run through the park during our walk, I noticed how much she has slowed down. Having had surgery on each one of her back legs takes it's toll.
But she still runs and romps with joy. Just happy to be out there being wild for a moment.
She's little and broken, but still good.
