Welcome back to the Summer Microadventure Series, where we’re tackling small, achievable challenges to get you out of a rut and taking actionable steps toward leading a more adventurous life. Last week you joined me for some mindful walks. This week, let’s go for a joyride.
Has it been awhile since you hopped on your bike and went for a pedal? The check the tires, strap on your helmet, and take a spin.
Or do you have a skateboard or scooter collecting dust? Blow it off and get gnarly.
How long has it been since you took a fun drive? Gas up your car, truck, or motorcycle and hit the road.
No matter what mode of transportation you choose, there are just a few rules.
- Don’t have a task in mind. This isn’t time for you to go to the bank. Just drive or ride.
- Enjoy yourself.
That’s it. Maybe enjoy a soda and listen to some tunes. Or stop your bike in a park and enjoy sitting for awhile. Feel free to bring a friend along for the joyride. Just remember that the point isn’t to go somewhere. The ride is the point.
Can you squeeze a couple of joyrides in this week?
Yes. Yes you can.
So go have fun.
