Nobody knows it all. It’s just part of life to have gaps in our knowledge. The problem is that those gaps can get us in trouble, because we don’t know what we don’t know.
But can we do anything about that?
There are things that we can control in life, and things that we can’t. When it comes down to chance and random occurrences, luck favors the prepared.
Seek not the perfect spot for Instagram or Snapchat. Instead, find a place that speaks to you. Have an experience that changes you. The world has a lot to share with you, if you’re willing to seek it out. That’s why you should strive to connect to the spirit of a place, whether you’re adventuring across the globe or just around the corner.
We all bend the map at one point or another. Sometimes we’re lost in the woods and desperate to find our way home. Other times we’re making decisions that will impact our lives for years to come. In either case, it’s better to see reality instead of what we wish was in front of us.
It’s true of packing your bag, it’s true of achieving your goals… It’s true of life. You don’t get what you expect, you get what you inspect. The trick is to figure out how to inspect everything in your life without obsessing about it.
Don’t get the wrong idea, I’m not telling you to flash people. I’m asking you to expose yourself to the new ideas and new experiences that will help you grow as a person. And maybe hike naked once a year.
One of the things that I struggle with is knowing what I’ll need at any
